WEIGHT MANAGEMENT PROGRAM:

Our goal is to help you to transform your health

At Endocrine & Diabetes Center, we work to help you live longer and healthier. Weight management is often a fundamental part of achieving these goals. The focus of our weight management program is not only on helping you achieve a healthy body weight, but also on reducing your risk of:

  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Arterial hypertension
  • Lipid disorders
  • Sleep apnea
  • Fatty liver disease
  • Certain cancers
  • Depression
  • Other complications of excess weight

Our multidisciplinary, team-based approach is delivered under my direction with more than three decades of experience in managing most sophisticated endocrine, metabolic disorders, and diabetes in Northern Virginia with excellence and recognitions. In collaboration with a team of nurse practitioners and a registered dietitian with interest in management of endocrine and metabolic disorders, obesity and related conditions, we will design a personalized medically supervised weight management program to optimize your health and longevity, reduce the burden of disease, and assist you with the support needed to adjust your life style and maintain your progress. It is important to understand that individual results may vary.

During your initial visit, we will review your comprehensive history, your physical exam and order detailed laboratory tests and electrocardiogram.  We will determine your resting metabolic rate and your body fat percentage and distribution using the state-of-the-art equipment to determine your caloric needs with periodic reevaluation. We will also arrange for a nutritional assessment, coaching, and advice regarding an exercise program. We will provide you with the details of your management program and medications as needed.  We anticipate that your initial engagement for weight management would be for the initial 24 week period that can be extended as needed.

Our expert team is looking forward to helping you in your new direction.
